Presenter: Astraea Howard, Prevention Coordinator – KASAP

Description: We all want our students to be happy, healthy, and successful. Unfortunately, Kentucky youth experience high rates of sexual violence, dating violence, bullying, and harassment. These experiences have long-term effects on students’ health, brain development, and academic success. Join the Kentucky Association of Sexual Assault Programs to learn about evidence-based prevention strategies and programming that can be implemented to reduce violence in Kentucky schools. We will discuss the impact of violence on students, factors that make violence more or less likely in our schools, and the ways the school environment can shape students’ experiences.  Learn how you can be part of the movement to create safer Kentucky schools.
