Today, we’re joining advocates, survivors, and allies across the country for a National Day of Action to demand critical federal funding for sexual assault services.
Right now, funding for these lifesaving services is under threat. That means Kentucky’s rape crisis centers, programs that provide 24/7 crisis response, counseling, advocacy, prevention education, and support, could face devastating cuts.
We cannot let survivors lose access to the support they deserve.
We need your voice, today.

Subject: Protect Funding for Sexual Assault Services in Kentucky
Dear [Representative/Senator] [Last Name],
I’m reaching out as a concerned Kentuckian who cares deeply about survivors of sexual violence in our state. Federal funding through programs like the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA), and the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) makes it possible for Kentucky’s 13 regional rape crisis centers to provide essential support – crisis counseling, advocacy, prevention, and more.
Lately, I’ve been worried about delays, cuts, and staffing changes at the federal level that put these crucial services at risk. Many of Kentucky’s rape crisis centers depend heavily on this funding to keep their doors open and help survivors heal.
[If you are comfortable, please briefly share how sexual assault services have impacted your community or your personal experience.]
Please support strong federal funding in the FY26 budget and push for agencies to get back on track with timely grants and proper staffing. Survivors in Kentucky deserve reliable, accessible care. Without these funds, that’s in jeopardy.
Thank you for standing with survivors and keeping these programs funded and effective. I’d appreciate the chance to talk more if you or your staff are interested.
Sincerely,
[Your Name]
[Your City], KY
