Promise Not to Tell? A Teacher’s Guide to Recognizing and Responding to Child Sexual Abuse

TRAINING VIDEO & CURRICULUM

This training series includes three twenty minute videos featuring professionals from the fields of mental health, legal services, law enforcement, education and social services who join adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse to provide insight and practical advice on dealing with the issues of child sexual abuse in the classroom. Complementing the videos will be mini-binder resource manuals for each of Kentucky’s 43,000 public school educators and an informational poster about the series for all 1400 public schools. KET will broadcast the series several times throughout the 2003-2004 school year and the Designated Child Sexual Abuse Treatment Coordinators from each regional community mental health center will coordinate the distribution of materials.

This resource was developed by the Kentucky Department for Mental Health and Mental Retardation Services, Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Program, in partnership with Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky; the Kentucky Association of Sexual Assault Programs; KET and the Child Victim’s Trust Fund of Kentucky Copies of the video and binder can be requested from Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky at 1-800 CHILDREN (1-800-244-5373). Printable information is available for downloading at http://www.pcaky.org./publications/pcaky_tg_booklet.pdf (PDF).
