Mission Statement
The Advocacy and Support Center provides a variety of services to victims of sexual assault or abuse. Child, teen, and adult survivors of sexual trauma, as well as their family or friends, may access our services. We strive to support sexual trauma victims in becoming survivors and attaining fulfilling, healthy life through empowerment and knowledge. This is accomplished by offering professional, nonjudgmental support in a safe environment with trained staff. All services are confidential within the limits of the law.
Services
Crisis Phone Counseling - trained volunteers and staff are available 24 hours a day by calling the crisis line.
Medical Advocacy - trained staff and volunteers are available for crisis counseling and support for victims undergoing medical exams related to a sexual crime. They provide support and information throughout the exam, as well as referral and follow up, at no cost.
Victim Advocacy - staff assists victims of sexual crimes through the legal process and to available resources. Because we are not attorneys or paralegals, legal advice is not given, but support and assistance through all stages of the legal process is provided at no cost.
Therapy - short-term therapy is provided by mental health professionals to survivors of sexual trauma.
Education - programs addressing sexual assault awareness, body safety, and date rape are offered at no cost. Trainings are provided to health fairs, community groups, students, day cares and professionals.
