List of Crisis Centers by District/County

There are 13 rape crisis centers providing services to all Kentuckians. Your local rape crisis center may offer any of the following services and can also provide referrals to other resources.

Victim Assistance:

  • 24 hour rape crisis line 1-800-656-HOPE - The RAINN hotline will connect you to the local rape crisis center nearest to you.
  • Counseling to aid the survivor in expressing thoughts and feelings about the trauma.
  • Counseling and support to aid family and friends of the rape victim cope with the trauma.
  • Therapy services or professional referrals for therapy.
  • Support groups for survivors of rape, sexual abuse and incest.
  • Information regarding law enforcement, criminal justice and medical systems.
  • Advocacy for victims by accompanying them to the hospital, Emergency room, to the police station, and to court.
  • Referrals to the appropriate community resources.
  • Assistance with Victim Compensation Claims.

    Public Awareness:

    Presentations may be available on the following topics:
  • Rape awareness and risk reduction.
  • Date rape, acquaintance rape, or stranger rape.
  • Adult survivors of child sexual abuse.
  • Sexual harassment in the workplace.
  • Legal and medical aspects of sexual victimization.
  • Rape trauma syndrome.
  • How family and friends can help victims and survivors.
  • Child sexual abuse.

    Consultation:

    Consultation and In-service training are available for area professionals working with survivors of rape and sexual abuse.
